    Hi. Thanks for using JA! I will try and help you out. There are several things that can cause a low boost condition that I would check first. The first is a leak in the air to air cooler or piping. The best way to find a leak in the cooler is to cap off one side and pressurize the other side up to 25 psi. Then spray the cooler with soapy water and look for bubbles. If you see bubbles, the cooler is cracked and leaking. Second is a faulty turbo. Over time they can wear and develop shaft end play. I would remove the intake pipe to the turbo and move the shaft in and out. No side to side. If you have excessive end play, the turbo is worn. It will have a little. Lastly is a low fuel pressure supply to the injectors. This can be caused by restricted filters, a weak supply pump, restricted fuel inlet line.     I see Patrick. Thanks for the information. 28 sounds about right. That's not as low as I have seen on other DD15 that had problems with one of the other items I mentioned. Did the boost use to be higher than it is now? Did the low power just drop off suddenly or was it gradual? How many miles are on the engine?
    Thanks for the information Patrick. Since the boost was higher before I would suspect here is a problem. Since the air system is Ok and the fuel supply is as well. There are only three other things I have seen cause the boos to fall off like this. The first and most common are worn injectors. Over time they can become worn and lower fuel delivery. If this engine has the original injectors, I would first suspect this is the problem. Second is a boost sensor reading inaccurate. To confirm I like to connect a manual psi gauge and verify the accuracy. If it is reading off, you will see it. Lastly is a plugged muffler. If it is restricted the boost will slowly go down as it gets more restricted. Let me know if you need more help.
    The only way I have been able to confirm a worn injector problem is to have the engine ran on a truck dyno that can measure the fuel rate of the engine will under load. If they are worn, the measured fuel rate will be low along with the boost pressure. Cylinder cutout test will not verify this. Basically what happens to the injectors is get get what is called poppet seat erosion. When this happens, the fuel that is to be injected leaks out passed the poppet seat instead of going into the cylinder. This is common on EUI injectors when they get a lot of miles on them. Let me know if you need more help.
    No actually it is not. But I have seen injectors wear early due to using low micron rating filters, prefilling filters, or low quality fuel.
